The Bitizens are here to stay! They love to work, study, commute and interact! Our job as developers/creators (one of many, actually) is to make sure their “society” will be strong and will last for years to come.

Economic Concept

$BTZ is the game token that will be used by players to interact with the Bitizens ecosystem. Detailed information on the token is available in the Tokenomics.

Players will be rewarded for their time playing the game (play-to-earn) and for their efforts in growing the game ecosystem (staking). Additional sources of revenue for the players are, naturally, the trading of NFTs and the trading of $BTZ tokens.

As the game ecosystem evolves, as outlined in our Roadmap, economic mechanisms will also be included, which will continually approximate the game economy to a real economy over time.

Long-term Economic Sustainability

Firstly, developers have a strong incentive to work towards the long-term sustainability of the game. No seed investment has been raised and no private sale has been made. These are good news for the community of players and investors, as it reduces selling pressure drastically.

The community and developers are the sole owners of the Bitizens ecosystem. Therefore, monetization for developers comes only through their ownership of $BTZ tokens, which have a specific unlocking schedule (more information on vesting available in the Tokenomics) and a price that will increase as the game evolves and its community increases.

Apart from the exciting and challenging strategies available in the initial game release, demand for Bitizens will also come from the value provided to players through the new features added (such as apartments, transport companies, birth/breeding, among many other possibilities), which will continuously improve the gaming experience. This sustained demand for Bitizens will support a healthy long-term economy.

Alongside the new features to be included, the game platform will also progress, allowing for improved onboarding of players and an overall better gaming experience.

The play-to-earn industry is evolving rapidly and new opportunities are constantly presenting themselves and developers are continuously looking for new features that will positively impact the long term of the Bitizen ecosystem. The $BTZ token will also work as a governance token, allowing the community to participate in the decision making process.

Finally, the $BTZ token has a hard cap, meaning there will not be any situation in which new tokens will be issued (minted), thus preventing inflation.
